City of Charleston COVID-19 Update

Posted by: admin

The City of Charleston is encouraging our community to use wisdom and extreme caution when considering group gatherings or activities. Everyone has a social responsibility to keep our community safe and healthy. When possible, stay home to reduce possible exposure. While there are no reported cases in our area, staying at home and following the outlined protective measures will help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

City services will continue without interruption at this time. In lieu of dropping off water payments, residents are encouraged to pay online or utilize the drop box in the parking lot at City Hall.

We ask that you be mindful of the City’s wastewater treatment facility. Flushing disposable wipes, paper towels, rags or other items clog the system, causing backups and costly repairs. Please dispose of anything other than toilet paper in the trash.

Please know that the City of Charleston is working with the appropriate healthcare officials to ensure we have the most current information. We encourage you to follow the guidelines determined by the Arkansas Department of Health and the CDC.

If you suspect you have symptoms of the flu or COVID-19, call your healthcare provider or the hospital to let them know you need to be seen. Proper precautions can be taken before your arrival to keep everyone safe.

You can take personal precautions as well. Wash your hands often and thoroughly with soap. Cough or sneeze into your elbow, not your hands.

Thank you for helping us keep our community safe and healthy.
